2nd Annual Healthcare Contingent at The SF Trans March
June 28, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Health care providers, professionals, and students, unite for trans health! Join us at the 2019 Trans March at Dolores Park San Francisco to show our ongoing support for folks who are trans and gender nonconforming.
This unofficial contingent will gather on the lawn of Dolores Park, and also walk together during the march. We welcome health care providers, practitioners, and students of all genders, modalities, and professions.
3PM – Meet at Dolores Park to make signs and banners that both reflect our solidarity with our patients and clients — particularly with trans people of color — and also help create solidarity among those of us who are trans and working in health. We will bring poster and banner-making supplies. We’ll post the exact location here on the day of.
6pm – We’ll line up to march as a group, closer to the front of the larger parade line.
BRING: Additional poster-making supplies (markers, paint, sheets, shirts, posterboard, cardboard), more health care providers & practitioners, friends, family, snacks if you wish to share.
IF YOU NEED HELP FINDING US: Please call/text Emiliano at (510) 866-0733.
We want to ensure we remember that this event is occurring on occupied Ohlone land. As we gather and march together, we are committed to holding the complexities of the diverse marginalized communities we want to support in their health.
This unofficial contingent is being called by the Trans Health Collaborative (firstname.lastname@example.org), an interdisciplinary group of trans and cispeople based in the San Francisco Bay Area, invested in defending and improving the health and wellbeing of transgender and gender nonconforming people; Trans in Health (email@example.com / firstname.lastname@example.org), a new network of healthcare providers and practitioners who are transgender; and the Trans Spiritual Care Initiative. We welcome you to join in organizing this, and to contribute your ideas!
The first Healthcare Contingent in the Trans March was organized by Emma Deboncoeur, along with Emiliano Lemus and Haley Davies. We honor Emma’s work and memory as we continue to gather and show up for trans health!
