Chaplain Claire Bohman, MDiv

Claire is the founder of the Trans Spiritual Care Initiative and Director of Sojourn Chaplaincy.  At Sojourn, Claire directs the Chaplaincy training program and spiritual care department.  In their chaplaincy work, they draw on a background in community mental health and community organizing.  They hold an MDiv with a focus on Spiritual Care and Liberation theology from the Pacific School of Religion.  They are an ordained interfaith minister and serve in leadership of a small earth based spiritual community. Claire is also a published author in spiritual and medical publications.

Pastor Schmian Evans, MDiv

Schmian Evans is an educator, pastor, public theologian, and “artivist.” She holds an M.A. in Women and Gender Studies from San Francisco State University, an M.Div. degree, with an emphasis in Sexuality and Religion, from Pacific School of Religion, and a B.A. in Gender Studies from California State University Stanislaus. For nearly two decades, Schmian has been an advocate for historically marginalized populations, serving as an educator, advocate and organizational leader in a wide variety of settings. Today, she continues her advocacy work as a “bridge builder,” often sought out to facilitate conversations in communities seeking to explore the complexities associated with sex, gender and sexuality variances among youth and LGBTQ+ seniors with the aim of promoting a more inclusive and welcoming environment.

Nikira Little Wolf Hernandez-Evans is a Two Spirit community leader who provides education and training for spiritual communities around gender diversity and oppression.

Emiliano Leemus, MPH

Emiliano Leemus is an herbalist, medical student in the UC Berkeley-UCSF Joint Medical Program, and fourth-generation healer/plant meddler. They have an Oakland-based herbalism practice centers both social justice and energetic herbalism. They’ve also spent a decade working as a community organizer, workshop facilitator, and educator, on topics including sexuality, sexual health, transgender competence, and the impacts of structural violence on health and wellbeing. As a queer and trans chicano (Purépecha and Chichimeca), Emiliano is passionate about combining experiential and professional knowledge to provide trainings to health professionals and the broader community. ​Se habla español.

Fresh “Lev” White is a love and compassionate activist. He offers coaching, training, and mindfulness as tools for shifting towards more authentic and passionate living. As a writer, he ministers love, and the power of the breath to his global community.
Grounded at the East Bay Mediation Center; graduate of Spirit Rock programs, Lev offers Dharma and mindful teachings around the Bay, and beyond. He is founder of Trans and Gender Queer Mindfulnees Sangha and a contributor to numerous publications on gender diversity and buddhism.
